What is Granny's Christmas Closet and how does it work?

Granny's eleves work diligently matching generous contributors (Angels) with the Christmas requests of senior citizens in need.

Hundreds of volunteers will act as Angels helping approximately 500 seniors enjoy Christmas. Many Angels will purchase specially requested Christmas gifts for a senior and then wrap them and deliver them to the Armory.in Anoka. Then special delivery elves personally deliver the gifts to the seniors before Christmas.

How can I help?

You can (1) become an Angel and be assigned a specific senior, (2) donate via our clothing drive program.

I know someone who is a needy senior, how can I sign him/her up?

We at Granny's Christmas Closet collect items for seniors in need. All the names of seniors come from professionals that work with seniors. People like Anoka Country nurses, social workers, ACCAP outreach workers, senior dining centers, assisted living centers, etc. We do not distribute to seniors, we collect for seniors. We also collect items and deliver them to the warehouse that the professionals working with seniors can access. They in turn deliver the needed items to their seniors. This helps our seniors maintain their confidentiality and dignity, yet still allows us to help those most in need.
